The Fandinos @ Downtown Elon Plaza (September 19th, 2025)

Elon and Greensboro-based act rock the block in an amazing showing for all ages

Wow. Wow. Wow. This show from The Fandinos had everything. Covers of classic songs like “Hemorrhage (In My Hands)” by Fuel, “Life is a Highway” by Rascal Flatts, and “American Idiot” by Green Day. Then they performed a number of original songs that are featured on all streaming platforms, like “Don’t Text Me”, and “I Remember You”. They ended the show with one called “Superstar” which I enjoyed the most. If there’s one word I could use to describe this band, it’d be versatile.

Their vocalist, Jacob Fandino stood out immediately, nailing the notes of every song performed, no matter the genre. The contrast between performing a darker song like “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden and a more upbeat and goofy one like “Cooler Than Me” by Mike Posner would’ve felt weird and slightly awkward due to their stark differences. And yet, Jacob killed it and easily breezed through the transitions and made each song feel like his own. All with catchy riffs and talented shredding. He’s an immense dual talent that deserves recognition.

Brandon Cole exuded confidence the entire time and definitely understood the assignment. He grooved through every song and really showed out during the jazz song cover. It only makes sense that he himself comes from a jazz background. The Latin tones he adds are a welcome addition. You can tell he is truly locked in as he sways to the music and his fingers fly across the fretboard. High-energy shows seem to be their bread and butter.

Nolan Fandino had his moment to shine when he played a two-minute jazz fill on the drums as Jacob switched guitars between songs. Steady drumming with cymbals to keep the flow was welcomed by the crowd, as evidenced by constant cheering. Nolan kept a stoic composure during the entire hour-plus set, not missing a beat. The chemistry between all the members is crystal clear and shines through every song. I found myself nodding along, getting a heavy dose of Blink-182 summer vibes.

They’re all extremely talented and further proof that those sleeping on the indie rock scene in North Carolina are missing out on some great music and fun shows. This show by The Fandinos was the start of a brilliant weekend and great night.
